Pharmacy software for medicine shops in Bangladesh

A medicine shop holds thousands of strips, bottles and vials, each from a batch with its own expiry date. One expired strip sold to a patient is a serious problem. A box of antibiotics found expired in the drawer is money lost. And when the company representative comes to take back short-dated stock, you need to know exactly what you have.

Posify24 is pharmacy software for Bangladesh that tracks every medicine by batch and expiry, sells the earliest-expiring stock first, and keeps your supplier dues and daily cash in the same system. It runs in the browser on the counter PC or a laptop.

Choose "Pharmacy" as your shop type at signup. Posify24 sets up medicine, surgical and personal care categories, with units in strip, box, bottle, pot, vial, ampoule and pieces, and turns on batch and expiry for them.

Every strip with its batch and expiry

In a pharmacy, "we have 40 boxes of paracetamol" is not enough information. Which batch, and when does it expire?

With the Pharmacy shop type, batch and expiry are required. When a delivery comes in, you enter the batch number and expiry date on each purchase line. The stock then sits batch by batch, so you always know how much of each batch is left. See batch and expiry tracking.

Sell the oldest batch first

When two batches of the same medicine are on the shelf, the one that expires sooner should go first. Posify24 uses first-expiring-first-out (FEFO) picking: the sale takes stock from the batch with the nearest expiry date, so newer stock waits its turn.

The near-expiry report shows what is coming close to its date. That gives you time to push it, move it to another branch, or return it to the supplier. When something does expire, record it as wastage so it leaves your stock and your stock value.

Boxes and loose strips

Medicines arrive by the box and often leave by the strip. Set how many pieces are in a box for a product, and the POS shows stock as boxes plus loose pieces. At the counter, scan or search the medicine, enter the quantity, and bill it. Several payments on one sale are fine: part cash, part bKash. Print an 80 mm receipt.

Suppliers and company returns

A pharmacy buys from many companies and depots, often on credit. In Posify24 every supplier has a payable balance. Purchase orders, goods received and purchase returns all update stock and the supplier's balance, so you know what you owe each company. More in purchase management.

The purchase return is how short-dated or damaged stock goes back to the supplier. It reduces stock and the amount you owe in one step.

Regular patients and credit

Many pharmacies give credit to regular patients, clinics or a local doctor's chamber. Posify24 keeps each customer's due and credit limit; a sale that would cross the limit is refused. The invoice shows the previous due, and the due ledger shows who owes what and for how long.

Frequently asked questions

Does Posify24 come with a list of all medicines in Bangladesh?

No. Posify24 does not include a built-in medicine database today. You add your own medicines, and each product has fields for generic name, dosage form and strength, so you can search and keep them organised.

Will Posify24 stop me selling an expired medicine?

Posify24 sells from the earliest-expiring batch first, and the near-expiry report shows what is coming due, so expired stock should not reach the counter if you act on the report. Record expired stock as wastage to take it out of stock.

Can I return expired medicine to the company?

Yes. Use a purchase return to the supplier. It takes the stock out and reduces what you owe that supplier.

I have two pharmacy branches. Can I see both?

Yes. Each branch can have its own warehouse and users, reports filter by branch, and you can transfer stock between them. The number of branches depends on your plan.

Can I add VAT to medicine bills?

Yes, if your shop charges it. Set a VAT percentage in the company settings and the POS adds it after discount and prints a tax line on the receipt. Posify24 does not produce NBR Mushak forms today.
