Building materials shop software for rod, cement and tiles dealers
A rod and cement business does not sell like a shop. A contractor agrees to take 300 bags of cement and 5 tons of rod for a building over three months. The goods leave on trucks, a few loads at a time. Labour for loading and the truck fare are added to the bill. Payment comes in instalments, and at any moment someone asks: how much has gone, how much is left, and how much is still owed?
Posify24 is building materials shop software built for that pattern: contracts with delivered and remaining amounts, deliveries by truck, labour and carrying charges on the bill, and contractor dues in one place. It runs in the browser in the office, the godown or on a phone.
Choose "Building Materials" as your business type at signup. The demo comes with Portland cement in 50 kg bags, 10 mm steel rod in 12 m pieces, sand, brick and paint, so you can see the setup before entering your own goods.

Contracts that show what is delivered and what is left
When a contractor or developer commits to a quantity for a project, record it as a customer contract with its lines and a valid-until date. As trucks go out, Posify24 shows the delivered amount against the contract and the remaining amount. No more adding up challans at the end of the month to see how much cement is still owed to the site.
Before a contract, there is usually a quotation. Make one, mark it sent or accepted, and convert it when the customer confirms. Tax groups such as VAT can be chosen on quotations, contracts and sale orders.
Deliveries by truck, with labour and carrying
A sale here is often a sale order delivered in several trips. Each delivery records the gate pass number, vehicle, driver, carrier and the delivery address. Deliver part of the order today and the rest next week; Posify24 keeps the balance open. See sales orders and delivery.
Loading labour and truck fare are real costs, and customers expect to see them. A sale can carry a labour charge and a carrying charge on the invoice, separate from the price of the goods.
Building materials businesses also sell goods that have not reached the yard yet, such as rod straight from the mill. Posify24 allows sales without stock on hand, so the order is not blocked while the goods are on the way.
Tiles by the square foot, rod by the piece
Tiles are sold by the square foot but stored by the box. In Posify24, a product can hold square-foot quantities and boxes plus pieces, so a 450 sq ft order and a stock of boxes describe the same goods. Every product keeps its own unit: in the demo, cement is sold by the bag and rod by the piece, and you set up the units your own yard uses.
Each product can carry its grade, brand, origin and material. That keeps 60-grade and 40-grade rod, or local and imported tiles, apart in stock and on the invoice. Receiving goods is done through a purchase receive (GRN), so stock only goes up when goods actually arrive at the yard. More in purchase management and inventory management.
Contractor dues and supplier payables
Credit is normal in this trade, in both directions. Customers carry an opening due, a credit limit and credit days, and every invoice shows the previous due. The due ledger and the due ageing report show which contractors are past 60 or 90 days. On the other side, every mill, company and supplier has a payable balance updated by each receive and payment.

Frequently asked questions
Can I track the cost of a construction project or the stock at a site?
No. Posify24 does not track project costs or stock held at a building site today. It manages your business as a supplier: contracts, deliveries, stock in your yard and godowns, and dues.
Can I sell tiles by the square foot when I buy them by the box?
Yes. Products can hold square-foot quantities as well as boxes and pieces, so you can sell in square feet and keep stock in boxes.
Can I add truck fare and loading labour to the bill?
Yes. A sale can carry a labour charge and a carrying charge on the invoice.
A contractor has a 3-month supply agreement. Can I see how much is left?
Yes. Record it as a customer contract. Posify24 shows the delivered amount and the remaining amount against the contract.
Can I sell cement that has not arrived yet?
Yes. Building materials accounts allow sales without stock on hand. Stock goes up when you record the purchase receive.
