Grocery POS software for mudi dokan and convenience stores
A mudi dokan runs on small margins and long credit. Rice by the kg, oil by the litre, biscuits by the packet, soap by the carton. Half the neighbourhood buys on baki and pays at the end of the month. The khata is full, and the expiry dates are on boxes at the back of the shelf.
Posify24 is grocery POS software that keeps all of this in one place: the sale, the stock, the expiry date and the customer's due. It runs in the browser, so the counter PC, a laptop or a tablet is enough.
Choose "Grocery" as your shop type at signup and Posify24 sets up food, beverage, toiletries and household categories, with units in pieces, kg, litre, packet and carton.

Expired goods on the shelf
Milk powder, biscuits, juice, noodles and spices all expire. In a busy shop, new stock goes in front and the old packets get pushed to the back until they are past their date.
In Posify24 the Grocery shop type makes batch and expiry entry required. When you receive a delivery, you enter the batch and expiry date on the purchase line. When you sell, Posify24 picks from the batch that expires first (first-expiring-first-out). The near-expiry report shows what to sell, discount or return to the supplier before it goes bad. Read more about batch and expiry tracking.
When something does expire or gets damaged, record it as wastage so your stock and your profit stay true.
The baki khata, without the khata
Every grocer knows the customer who says "write it down, I'll pay on the 1st". In a paper khata, a page goes missing or a figure is hard to read, and then there is an argument.
In Posify24, attach the customer to the sale and leave part of it unpaid. The rest becomes a due on that customer. You can set a credit limit for each customer, and if a sale would cross it, Posify24 refuses the sale. Every invoice shows the previous due, so the customer sees the full amount. When they pay, record it as a deposit from the customer. The due ledger and the due ageing report show who has owed money for more than 30, 60 or 90 days.
Cash, bKash and Nagad at one counter
Some customers pay in cash, some send money by bKash or Nagad, some do both. In Posify24 you can add several payment rows on one sale. Each payment method is linked to its own account, so at closing time you can see how much came in as cash and how much went to your bKash account. See bKash and Nagad payments. Posify24 records these payments; it does not take the payment from the customer's phone itself.
The daily opening and closing report and the cashbook show what the cash box should hold. If you are new to keeping accounts, our guide on how to keep shop accounts walks through the daily routine.
Fast billing for packaged goods
For packaged goods with a barcode, scan and the item is in the cart. For loose items, search by name. Products without a barcode can get one: print barcode labels from the purchase order. Hold a sale when a customer runs back for one more item, and serve the next person meanwhile.

Frequently asked questions
Can I sell rice and dal by the kg?
Yes. Set the product's unit to kg and type the quantity when you sell. Posify24 does not connect to a weighing scale today, so you weigh the goods and type the weight yourself.
What happens if a customer's due gets too high?
Set a credit limit on the customer. When a sale would push their due over that limit, Posify24 refuses it, and you decide whether to collect some money first or raise the limit.
Can I see which items are close to expiry?
Yes. The near-expiry report lists stock by batch and expiry date. Because selling picks the earliest-expiring batch first, older stock goes out before newer stock.
I am not good with computers. Is it hard to use?
The POS screen is a search box, a cart and a pay button. The live demo lets you try it with sample grocery data before you sign up, and the Help Center has Bangla guides.
Will my customers get an SMS for their bill?
It can, if you set up an SMS gateway under Communication settings. Posify24 can then send the sale invoice to the customer by SMS.
