Hardware shop software for hardware, paint and electronics stores

A hardware shop sells screws by the box, wire by the metre, nails by the kg and drills by the piece. A paint shop sells by the litre, often to the same mistri who comes back every week. An electronics shop sells chargers by the dozen and laptops one at a time. These shops have a lot of small items, a few expensive ones, and customers who buy on credit for a job.

Posify24 is hardware shop software that handles mixed units, contractor credit and orders that are delivered later. It also covers paint and electronics shops, and it runs in the browser on a counter PC or laptop.

At signup, choose Hardware, Paint or Electronics as your shop type, or more than one if you sell across them. Posify24 sets up matching categories and units, and combines them if you pick several.

Thousands of small items, in different units

The hardest part of a hardware shop is the long tail: hinges, fittings, fasteners, pipe joints, bits. Each comes in its own unit.

In Posify24, each product has its own unit, and the Hardware shop type sets up pieces, box, kg, metre and set, with categories for hand tools, power tools, fasteners and plumbing. Paint gets litre, pieces and box. Electronics gets mobile, laptop, gadgets and accessories, sold by the piece or box. Set how many pieces are in a box and stock shows as boxes plus loose pieces.

Set a minimum stock level for the fast-moving items, and the low stock list tells you what to order before the shelf is empty. Print barcode labels from the purchase order so small items scan at the counter instead of being searched by hand. See inventory management for stock counts, wastage and stock history.

Contractors, mistris and credit

A paint contractor takes 40 litres for a building job and pays when the client pays him. An electrician picks up wire, switches and breakers every few days. If this credit lives in a notebook, it is hard to know who owes what.

In Posify24, each customer has an opening due, a credit limit and credit days. A sale that would push someone over their limit is refused at the counter. Every invoice shows the previous due. The due ledger and the due ageing report show which contractors have owed money for more than 30, 60 or 90 days, so you know whom to call first.

Quotations and orders that are delivered later

Bigger buyers ask for a price first. Make a quotation, send it, and when it is accepted, convert it into a sale order. You do not have to send everything on the same day: record a delivery with a gate pass number, vehicle and driver, deliver part now and the rest later, and Posify24 keeps track of what is still pending. More in sales orders and delivery.

If you sell rod, cement, tiles or sand in bulk, the building materials software page covers square-foot tiles, labour and carrying charges, and contracts.

The counter itself

For walk-in customers, the POS screen works the usual way: scan or search, set the quantity, take payment. A customer can pay part cash and part bKash or card on one bill, and anything unpaid is saved as a due on their name. Print an 80 mm receipt, or an A4 invoice for a sale order.

Frequently asked questions

Can Posify24 track IMEI or serial numbers on phones?

No. Posify24 does not track IMEI or serial numbers today, and it has no warranty tracking. Phones and laptops are tracked by quantity like other products, so a mobile shop cannot record the IMEI of each handset yet.

Can I mix paint colours or record a tint formula?

Posify24 has no paint tinting or formula feature. Shops that sell ready-made shades add each shade and can size as its own product, so stock and prices stay exact.

Can one shop sell hardware and paint together?

Yes. Add both shop types to the same account. Their categories and units combine, and every product keeps its own unit.

Can I give a contractor a quotation before he buys?

Yes. Create a quotation, mark it sent or accepted, and convert it into a sale order when he confirms. The order can then be delivered in parts.

Does it work on a tablet at the counter?

Yes. Posify24 runs in the browser, so a tablet, laptop or PC works. It needs an internet connection, except the POS counter, which keeps selling when the line drops and sends those sales when it is back.
